Job summary

Reliance Test & Technology, LLC at Eglin AFB, FL is seeking an Electronics Technician, Maintenance II. The role maintains, repairs, and installs electronic equipment including radar, radio, telemetry, optics, and control systems to ensure mission readiness.

Qualifications

  • Must be a technical or service school graduate in electronics with two years' experience.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with radar, radio, telemetry, electro-optics or related systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, align and operate electronic equipment.
  • Work with video cameras, computers, control systems and LAN for remote control.
  • Follow schematics and manuals to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Operate test instruments; perform circuit analysis and calculations.
  • Assist higher-level technicians and train lower-level staff as needed.

ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN, MAINTENANCE II Test Area A-22, Eglin AFB, FL Open Position Request Number: R-54-26 CLASSIFICATION: Electronics Technician Maintenance II; CBA Rate $36.92/Hr GRADE: Non-Exempt; Regular Full-time LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL - On Site POSTING DATE: Internal Applicants Only (05/12/2026) / External Applicants (05/19/2026) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Electronics Technician, Maintenance maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, laser, electro-optics, infrared, telemetry, and communications systems, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices. The successful incumbent applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

General Duties
  • The Electronics Technician Maintenance II applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
  • Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
  • This technician works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.
  • This technician may assist higher-level technicians in accomplishing modifications as well as identifying problems requiring further investigation.
  • Job functions include installation; troubleshooting; repair; alignment; and operation of typical electronic equipment including standard and high-speed video cameras, temperature conditioning systems, computers, data systems, control systems, LAN for remote control computer systems, electro-optics, fiber-optics, and communications systems.
  • Must be capable of performing job functions utilizing appropriate manuals, schematics, and other documentation.
  • Required to perform with limited instructions or supervision.
  • Knowledge of other trades such as the mechanical skills necessary to repair and modify servo systems and optics associated camera systems is a plus.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with the operation of test instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, frequency measuring equipment, and other related measurement instruments.
  • Will be required to perform electronic circuit analysis and mathematical calculations typically encountered in the fabrication, maintenance, modification, and repair of electronic systems.
  • Must be qualified to operate; maintain; repair; and modify complex state-of-the-art electronic, electro-optical, and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Required to lift, pull, or carry weight and size commensurate with job requirements.
  • Some tasks and assignments will require work performance in outside environments with exposure to the conditions typical of the various work locations.
  • Must assist higher-level technicians in accomplishing modifications as well as identifying problems requiring further investigation.
  • May be required to assist senior level technicians in performing software adaptations and computer problem solving and repair or perform minor actions without higher-level assistance.
  • May be required to provide guidance, training, and functional supervision to lower level technicians.
  • Required to perform with limited instructions or supervision.
  • Must possess a general knowledge of electronic component characteristics to aid in the selection of replacement components and devices.
  • Knowledge of other trades such as the mechanical skills necessary to repair and modify servo systems, pedestal-drive systems, waveguide installations, and optics associated with laser and camera systems a plus.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with the operation of test instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, frequency measuring equipment, and other related measurement instruments. Job Requirements OTHER DUTIES: Other functions include assisting in the orientation and training of other technicians at this level when directed by the supervisor. Will perform general housekeeping and other job related tasks. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: May perform work assignments in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment. Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments in heat or cold with exposure to the conditions typical of various work locations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to climb, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, pull, or carry heavy items.
