Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. (GDIT) is seeking an Electronics Technician Maintenance I for the Digital Range Training System (DRTS) to support the Warfighter Training Readiness Solution.

You will ensure Army standard maintenance for DRTS non-IT equipment and maintain communications between the Player Unit and DRTS systems during training events. As ETM I, you will operate workstations, perform PMCS, assist with repairs, install PU on military vehicles and targets, and monitor

• AA/AS or relevant years of experience.
• 2+ years of related experience managing US Army DRTS equipment/ranges; military experience preferred.
• Technical expertise in ranges systems, equipment, and range maintenance.
• Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security practices.
• Ability to learn the W-TRS MIS for controls/recording all work orders and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) property control.

• Conduct ground maintenance around all target pits, buildings, and service areas.

• Inspect and inventory all assigned equipment before and after live fire-training events.

Electronics Technician Maintenance I

GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for Digital Range Training System (DRTS) Electronics Technician Maintenance (ETM) I in support of the Warfighter Training Readiness Solution (W-TRS) Contract, formally known as ATMP. DRTS program is the enabler of range modernization for tactical vehicle training. DRTS provides the infrastructure and instrumentation for Abrams, Bradley, Stryker, and Aviation platform live-fire gunnery training and qualifications and the ability to conduct Combined Arms Live Fire Exercises (CALFEX).

GDITs ETM I will report to the Range Team Leads and is responsible for ensuring Army standard of maintenance for all DRTS non-IT equipment, and that communication is maintained between the Player Unit (PU) and the DRTS systems during a training event.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

• Use MIS maintenance control program to open work orders (W/Os) and order needed parts.
• Install and Deinstall PU on the proper military vehicles and targets.
• Reestablish failed communication with down range equipment.
• Monitor and ensure PUs stay in communication with DRTS systems.
• Report acquisition of supplies, equipment, and parts weekly to Team Lead
• Conduct an inspection and inventory of all assigned equipment before and after each live fire-training event for accountability and serviceability.
• Supports the required GDIT/W-TRS cross training plan to support other W-TRS TADSS on instillation.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: AA/AS or relevant years of experience
• Experience: 2+ years of related experience Managing US Army DRTS EQUIPMENT/ranges, Military experience preferred
• Required Technical skills:
  • Technical expertise in ranges systems, equipment. and range maintenance
  • Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security practices
  • Experienced in US army doctrine live-fire gunnery training and qualifications, combined arms live fire exercises, and After Action Review (AAR) capabilities
  • Ability to learn the W-TRS Management Information System (MIS) for controls/recording all work orders and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) property control
• US Citizenship Required
• Role requirements:
  • Superb communication skills;
  • Attends daily range safety briefings are conducted each morning
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid CDL Class C state driver’s license and post driving privileges
