Job summary

Centurum is seeking an Electronics Technician Maintenance III in San Diego, CA to apply advanced technical knowledge to fault complex shipboard electronic systems, including HF/RF, TACAN, ESM, and related components. The role requires independent judgment for circuit analyses and troubleshooting using high-end test equipment.

The ideal candidate has six years of C4ISR or similar experience, a High School diploma, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Six years recent C4ISR experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic systems.
• Experience with antennas, cables, ducts, waveguides and related hardware.
• Ability to install, deinstall and repair onboard electronic systems using diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair shipboard electronic systems (HF, RF, TACAN, ESM) using advanced test equipment.
• Perform overhauls and repairs as needed to support mission readiness.
• Provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians as required.

Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electronics Technician Maintenance III applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.

Experience performing overhauls and repairs on any of the following shipboard electronics systems: High Frequency (HF), Radio Frequency (RF), High Frequency Radio Group (HFRG), Digital Modular Radio (DMR), Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT), Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN), Electronic Support Measures (ESM), or Naval Shipboard Antenna Systems.

Operational knowledge of URN-25, WSC-3, USQ-122, SSR-1, URT-23, DAMA, WRL-8, STC-2 a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Six (6) years recent C4ISR or other relevant experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation and deinstallation of electronic systems, equipment, components, antennas, cables, cableways, waveguides and ducts, while using logic analyzers and digital oscilloscopes.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Quality Management System (QMS) experience that is compatible with ISO 9001:2008 and 2015.

Compensation: $38.50-$55 an hour.
Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
