Job summary

Centurum is seeking an experienced Communications Electronics Technician to support the US Navy program at NAS Pax River, MD. The role focuses on building, integrating, testing, and validating RF communication subsystems and maintaining lab hardware.

Requires 10+ years of SHF/UHF/HF experience, ability to travel up to 25%, and a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. Compensation ranges from 80K to 90K per year with full benefits and strong documentation requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with SHF, UHF, and HF communications systems.
• Experience in building, integrating, and testing communications systems.
• Ability to prepare Installation Requirement Drawings packages, Operations and Maintenance Manuals, System Operation Verification Tests, and User Manuals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Communications Electronics Technician in support of government technical lead for US Navy programs.
• Assist the technical lead to build, integrate, test, and provide engineering, verification, and validation of RF subsystem upgrades for US Navy systems.
• Provide technical support of HF, SHF, SAT, and VHF/UHF voice and digital radio systems.
• Update program documentation and procedures (e.g., IRD, IDP, SOVT, FIT, PITCO, and FRCB processes).
• Install software on computers using provided Installation Guides.
• Familiar with software updates, IA scanning and monthly updates.
• Maintain laboratory hardware communications systems.
• Handle and load cryptographic material.
• Support an integrated logistics team to update inventories, track procurements, and prepare hardware system pack-outs for shipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

REQUIRED SKILLS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with SHF, UHF, and HF Communications systems.
• Technical knowledge in building, integrating, and testing communications systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in preparing Installation Requirement Drawings packages, Operations and Maintenance Manuals, System Operation Verification Test, and User Manuals.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Secret clearance required, with the ability to obtain a DOD TS/SCI Security Clearance.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Prior experience with Navy radio systems.

REMARKS:

Compensation: 80K to 90K annually Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
