Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation is seeking a skilled technician to assist in fabrication and integration of C4ISR systems aboard Navy and MSC ships, with on-site installation across the continental United States and 50-75% travel. You'll support testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical circuits, read drawings, and provide feedback on design issues to production QA.

U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a secret security clearance are required; SRC offers a strong benefits

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 10 years of direct work experience; includes a path with a two-year technical degree plus 8 years experience.
• Shipboard electronics installation experience.
• Proficiency with cable fabrication hand tools (Heat guns, soldering stations, crimps).
• Cable fabrication for RF, CAT5/6, Heliax, MIL-STD Cannon plugs.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in fabrication and integration of C4ISR systems aboard Navy & MSC ships (CVN, LHA, LPD, T-AO, Frigate classes).
• Assist technical staff in fabrication, integration, testing, operation, maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical circuits.
• Provide feedback to production management and QA on issues/defects in design or fabrication/integration phases.
• Perform on-site installation of equipment across the continental United States at Naval bases and shipyards.
• Perform cable rip-out and re-installation on Navy vessels.

Description

• Assisting in the fabrication and integration of C4ISR systems into multiple variants of ship vessels (Navy & MSC) to include but not limited to: CVN, LHA, LPD, T-AO, & Frigate class ships
• Assisting technical staff members in the fabrication, integration, testing, operation, maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical circuits
• Providing feedback to production management and QA with identified issues/defects in design or during the fabrication/integration phase with regards to cables or equipment racks
• Performing on-site installation of equipment and products in the continental United States within various environments to include Naval Bases and privately owned shipyards
• Performing cable rip-out and re-installtion on board Navy vessels

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 10 years of direct work experience
  • Minimum of a two-year technical degree and 8 years of work related experience equivalent combination of education and experience should add up to 10 years
• Shipboard Electronics installation experience
• Proficiency in using cable fabrication hand tools to include but not limited to: Heat Guns, Hand Soldering Stations, and various crimp tools
• Cable Fabrication assembly experience with the following types of cables: RF, CAT5/6, Heliax, & Multi-pin MIL-STD Cannon Plugs
• Read and interpret drawings

Clearance Information

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY FOR A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL
