Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled instrumentation technician to support calibration, automation, and data acquisition efforts across diverse test environments. You will work with engineers and technicians to interpret test plans, build fixtures, and develop automation using MET/CAL and LabVIEW.
The role emphasizes hands-on calibration, troubleshooting, and data handling, with safety and ISO 17025 standards guiding daily activities in lab and machine-shop settings.

Responsible for working with instrumentation, automation, data acquisition, audio/visual, and electrical equipment to support company activities, as directed. Performs tasks directly or through subordinates.
Associate’s degree in electrical engineering technology or related field; or five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination. Experience with ISO 17025 required.
Read and understand written instructions (safety notices, test procedures, operating and maintenance instructions). Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Understanding and ability to apply advanced math functions (trigonometry, algebra).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Proficiency with MET/CAL and LabVIEW. Ability to type strongly preferred.
Excellent aptitude in calibration, automation, data acquisition, and electrical applications. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions, interpret technical instructions, and work in teams. Adaptability.
Regularly required to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, and controls; stand, walk, climb stairs, reach; lift or move objects up to 35 lbs; distinguish colors.
Lab and machine‑shop areas with moderate to high pressure gases and liquids, extreme temperatures, high voltages, chemicals, and sharp objects. Moderate noise. Temperature extremes have some control. PPE provided when necessary.
$25.00 /hr – $34.00 /hr. Salary determined by education, experience, skills, and market data. Position includes competitive benefits.
