Job summary

Peraton’s NASA Balloon Operations Contract team in Palestine, Texas seeks an Electronics Technician to support manufacture, test, integration, and field operations for NASA Balloon missions from inception through flight.

You will work with electronics and electro‑mechanical systems, perform prototype assembly, environmental testing, and qualification tasks, and coordinate with scientists and engineers to ensure mission readiness and data integrity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; trade school a plus.
• Experience of 2+ years is preferred; military experience a plus.
• Knowledge of electronic testing, fabrication and maintenance tools is required.
• Soldering and crimping skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, test, integrate and operate electronic and electro‑mechanical systems for balloon missions.
• Use schematics, procedures and change requests to perform prototype assembly and environmental testing.
• Maintain ground support equipment and complete project documentation.
• Coordinate with science teams and engineers on system requirements.
• Configure test setups to evaluate performance and reliability of hardware.
• Provide downrange telemetry support and ensure equipment readiness.
