Job summary

Peraton's NASA Balloon Operations Contract (NBOC) team at the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility in Palestine, TX is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support manufacture, test, integration and field operations for balloon missions worldwide.

You will design, assemble, test and integrate electrical systems, work with engineers across disciplines, and prepare comprehensive design documentation. Travel up to 60% may be required; US citizenship and NASA credentialing are necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Technology degree.
• Experience in digital circuit design.
• Familiar with test installations and test equipment.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening; NASA PIV badge.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Support the NASA Scientific Balloon Program with electrical circuits, assemblies and devices for flight and ground hardware.
• Perform complex integration and testing of electronic systems.
• Plan manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical apparatus.
• Collaborate with engineers in other disciplines on system development and integration.
• Design, fabricate, test, verify and integrate electrical systems.
• Prepare design documentation including technical text, illustrations, tables and schematics.
• Draw plans and specifications using computer aided design software.
• Estimate material, construction, and labor costs with project timescales.
• Test installations/systems and analyze data observing safety regulations.
