Job summary

OKSI seeks an experienced Electronics Technician to perform precision assembly, rework, and test support for advanced defense electronics in an ESD-controlled lab, partnering with the Electrical Engineering team on prototypes, first articles, and board bring-up.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; electronics training preferred.
• 5-8 years of hands-on electronics assembly, rework, and harness experience in defense/engineering labs.
• Experience with SMT and through-hole soldering, assembly, and rework, including magnification work.
• Hands-on cable and wire harness assembly: crimping, connector termination, routing, and tie-down.
• Experience with box builds or higher-level assemblies from drawings and instructions.
• Proficient with hand tools, crimpers, torque tools, and soldering/rework equipment.
• Familiarity with ESD-controlled environments and ESD-sensitive components.
• Basic troubleshooting: reading schematics, continuity, and voltage checks.
• IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-7711/7721 certification required within 6 months; training funded.

Responsibilities

• Perform SMT and through-hole soldering, assembly, and rework of PCAs under magnification.
• Build engineering prototypes and first articles from schematics and drawings.
• Support board bring-up and debugging with engineers using meters, power supplies, and scopes.
• Fabricate, route, and terminate wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
• Assemble enclosures and install PCBA into chassis; conduct final inspection.
• Support LRIP and rate builds with assembly, rework, and test station duties.
• Follow controlled work instructions and document changes; assist ECO implementation.
• Maintain ESD-controlled work areas and calibration records; manage HazMat documentation.
