Electronics Technician - Automation

Position Summary

The Electronics Technician - Automation is responsible for developing and building automated equipment, focusing on electronic motion control, instrumentation, and programming. They also work on improving automation processes to enhance capability, efficiency, and productivity across manufacturing areas for new and existing products.

Essential Functions
  • Development and troubleshooting of automated equipment.
  • Electrical wiring from engineering drawings and layout of control panels.
  • Support modification and system improvement projects within the Automation department.
  • Understanding and application of electrical and electronic principles, standards, and workmanship.
  • Layout, wiring, assembly, documentation (wiring diagrams), and troubleshooting of electrical control systems used in automated machinery.
  • Mechanical assembly of actuators, motors, spindles, and other mechanisms.
  • Participation in high-performance teams, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Attendance and punctuality are required; overtime may be necessary based on customer demand.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or 3-5 years of related electrical/electronic, control panel wiring/troubleshooting experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, motion control, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs and pneumatics.
  • Programming skills (C++, PHP, Python, etc.) are a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude for diagnosis, repair, fabrication, and assembly of automated equipment.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling is a plus.
  • Proficient in using Windows-based PCs, email, and internet.
  • Effective communication skills with operators, maintenance personnel, and engineers.
