Overview

We are seeking an Electronics Technician 4 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. In this role you will install and maintain electronic security systems, perform preventive maintenance, inspections, evaluations, and inventory, and work on large, complex installation projects at both local and global levels.

Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for installing and maintaining electronic security systems, performing preventive maintenance, inspections, evaluations, and inventory.

  • Leading teams on large complex installation projects with limited supervision.
  • Leading and documenting daily toolbox talks, ORMs and safety audits.
  • Installing and maintaining equipment at both the local and global level per design packages.
  • Programming and installation of head‑end equipment for access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems.
  • Troubleshooting and isolating both systems and/or hardware at both a local and global level.
  • Lead the on‑site software commissioning and testing.
  • Lead inspections, evaluations, and inventory—performing take‑off project drawings, creating, documenting, and tracking RFIs.
  • Design assist and feedback; documenting daily reports and project progress.
  • Communicating project and team member issues/concerns to management.
  • Create and manage project schedule integration of IDS, ACS and CCTV systems.
  • Forecast and manage project labor hours; communicate effectively with supervisors and subordinates.
  • Guide and mentor technicians.
Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship. Active Secret clearance required.

Education
  • HS diploma or GED with military electronics training (minimum 720 classroom hours) or
  • Graduation from an accredited electronics technician program or
  • Graduation from an electrical apprenticeship program.
Required Progressive Experience
  • 8+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs.
  • 3 years of the above experience must be focused in electronic security systems.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated time‑management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills is a plus.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license. The position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle.
  • Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy.
Desired / Advantageous Qualifications
  • Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems (e.g., CCURE, Lenel, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, AIphone Intercom Systems Airphone, FFT, DIVAR, Windows operating systems & certifications and experience in installation of said systems).

Abilities
  • Position requires ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Demonstrate physical strength and stamina for tasks such as loading, unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in transportation of materials. Apply proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
  • Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Work at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
  • Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
