Job summary

Overview

We are seeking an Electronics Technician 4 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit, you will work with a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services—including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio‑visual, IT systems, perimeter defense and command‑and‑control systems—for federal, local and commercial customers across high‑growth markets.

Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for installing and maintaining electronic security systems, performing preventive maintenance requirements, and performing inspections, evaluations, and inventory.

  • Leading teams on large complex installation projects with limited supervision.
  • Leading and documenting daily toolbox talks, ORMs and Safety Audits.
  • Installing and maintaining equipment at both the local and global level per design packages.
  • Programming and installation of head‑end equipment for Access Control, Intrusion Detection and CCTV systems.
  • Troubleshooting and isolating both systems and/or hardware at both local and global levels.
  • Leading the on‑site software commissioning and testing.
  • Leading inspections, evaluations, and inventory; performing take‑off project drawings.
  • Creating, documenting, and tracking RFIs.
  • Design assist and feedback.
  • Documenting daily reports and project progress.
  • Communicating project and team member issues/concerns to management.
  • Creating and managing project schedule; integrating IDS, ACS and CCTV systems.
  • Forecasting and managing project labor hours; communicating effectively with supervisors and subordinates.
  • Guiding and mentoring technicians.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license; position may require use of a company vehicle. Acceptable driving record required.
  • High‑school diploma or GED plus military electronics training (minimum 720 classroom hours).
  • Graduation from an accredited electronics technician program or electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Three additional years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities.
  • Eight years or more of electronics installation and/or maintenance across multiple systems and customer programs.
  • Three years of the above experience focused in electronic security systems.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Time‑management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a plus.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%.
Desired / Advantageous Qualifications
  • Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems (e.g., CCURE, Lenel, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, Airphone, FFT, DIVAR, Windows operating systems).

Physical Requirements
  • Lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis using proper lifting techniques.
  • Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Work at heights up to 60 feet, including on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.
  • Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected) and hear and communicate in English.
  • Can use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Recognize potential problems and alert others (does not involve solving the problem).
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce logical answers.

Pay Range

USD $36.00 – USD $60.00 per hour.
