Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking an Electronics Technician 4 to join the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit. You will install, maintain, and test electronic security systems including intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, and IT systems for federal, local, and commercial customers.

Qualifications

  • Requires U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Valid driver’s license required; driving record must meet policy requirements.
  • Minimum 8+ years in electronics installation/maintenance across multiple systems and customers.
  • At least 3 years of the above in electronic security systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an Electronics Technician 4 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the (SES) Strategic Business Unit, you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers across high‑growth markets.

Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for installing and maintaining electronic security systems, performing preventive maintenance requirements, inspections, evaluations, and inventory.

  • Leading teams on large complex installation projects with limited supervision.
  • Leading and documenting daily toolbox talks, ORMs, and safety audits.
  • Installing and maintaining equipment at both the local and global level per design packages.
  • Programming and installation of head‑end equipment for access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems.
  • Troubleshooting and isolating both systems and/or hardware at both a local and global level.
  • Lead the on‑site software commissioning and testing.
  • Lead inspections, evaluations, and inventory. Performing take‑off project drawings, create, document, and track RFIs.
  • Design assist and feedback.
  • Documenting daily reports and project progress.
  • Communicating project and team member issues/concerns to management.
  • Create and manage project schedule integration of IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems.
  • Forecast and manage project labor hours, communicate effectively with supervisors and subordinates.
  • Guide and mentor technicians.
Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, for access to classified information. Ability to obtain a security clearance is required.

Key Requirements
  • Requires a valid driver's license. This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle.
  • Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance with our policy.
Education
  • HS diploma or GED, Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours),
  • Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program,
  • Graduation from an Electrical Apprenticeship program,
  • An additional three (3) years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities.
Required Progressive Experience
  • 8+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs.
  • 3 years of the above experience must be focused in electronic security systems.
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills is a plus.
  • Must be able to travel 50%.
Desired / Advantageous Qualifications
  • Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems (CCURE, Lenel, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, AIphone Intercom Systems Airphone, FFT, DIVAR, Windows operating systems & certifications) and experience installing said systems.

Abilities
  • The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including loading, unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
  • Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Work at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
  • Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
