Job summary

Our electronics technicians are skilled in electronic equipment design, development, evaluation, testing, installation, and maintenance. They're knowledgeable in the capabilities, limitations, operations, design, characteristics, and functional use of a variety of types and models of electronic equipment and systems related to electronic engineering.

Specialized Experience (SE) GS-7 and GS-9 categories require one year of SE equivalent to GS-5 or GS-7, respectively, including installation,

Qualifications

  • Experience includes installation, maintenance, testing and inspection of electronic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation and maintenance of electronic communication systems.
  • Conduct routine equipment tests and perform basic corrections.
  • Handle, store, and inventory electronic equipment and components.
  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot electronic systems including FM radio systems and data networks.
  • Inspect equipment for adherence to standards and tolerances.

Job description

Our electronics technicians are skilled in electronic equipment design, development, evaluation, testing, installation, and maintenance. They're knowledgeable in the capabilities, limitations, operations, design, characteristics, and functional use of a variety of types and models of electronic equipment and systems related to electronic engineering.

Specialized Experience (SE) GS-7: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-5 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
  • Assisted with the physical installation and maintenance of electronic communication systems.
  • Conducted routine equipment tests; performed basic corrections and/or replacing defective parts.
  • Handled, stored, and inventoried a variety of electronic equipment and components.
GS-9: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-7 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
  • Performed physical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic communication systems.
  • Performed installations and preventive and corrective (or emergency) maintenance and service work on FM radio systems, data networks, or electronic physical security systems.
  • Inspected equipment for adherence to standards and tolerances.
