Job summary

Actalent, Inc. is seeking a Test Technician for an onsite role in Olathe, KS. This contract-to-hire position involves testing electronic components, diagnosing failures, performing repairs, and documenting results.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure product quality and compliance. The role emphasizes reading schematics, using meters and scopes, and maintaining meticulous records.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience testing, troubleshooting, or repairing electronic or electromechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Experience using electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

• Perform testing on electronic components, circuit boards, subassemblies, assemblies, and finished products.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose product failures using test equipment and documentation.
• Perform repairs and rework and verify corrective actions via retesting.
• Execute production acceptance tests and final quality verification procedures.
• Document test results, failures, corrective actions, and quality observations.
• Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow procedures.

Job description

• Perform testing on electronic components, circuit boards, subassemblies, assemblies, and finished products.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose product failures using a variety of test equipment and technical documentation.
• Perform repairs and rework as needed and verify corrective actions through retesting.
• Execute production acceptance tests and final quality verification procedures.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials.
• Document test results, failures, corrective actions, and quality observations.
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following established procedures and quality standards.
• Assist with process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical certification, military electronics training, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Experience testing, troubleshooting, or repairing electronic or electromechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Experience using electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and related tools.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, production, or engineering test environment.
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic fundamentals.
• Experience supporting quality inspections, failure analysis, or root cause investigations.
• Familiarity with standard test procedures and documentation requirements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Olathe, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
