Job summary

Join our technical team supporting thetesting, troubleshooting, repair, and production acceptance of advanced aviation electronics, navigation aids (NAVAIDS), surveillance radios, and other high-reliability electronic systems.

The Electronic Test Technician uses sophisticated electronic test equipment to evaluate digital, analog, and RF circuits from the component level through complete systems. This position is responsible for identifying failures, determining root cause, performing component-level repairs and rework, and verifying that repaired products meet established production and customer acceptance criteria.

This is a hands-on technical role ideal for someone with experience inRF electronics, avionics, electronics test, troubleshooting, or component-level repair who enjoys solving complex technical problems in a fast-paced production environment.

Shift Flexibility

Our production environment operates across multiple shifts, andcandidates with open availability to work any assigned shift are strongly preferred. The ability to support different shifts, overtime, or schedule adjustments based on production and program needs is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities
Testing & Troubleshooting
  • Perform electrical and electronic testing on components, circuit boards, subassemblies, assemblies, modules, and complete systems.
  • Testdigital, analog, and RF circuits from the component level through the top system level.
  • Perform pre-tests, production acceptance tests, final acceptance tests, and other testing required by product and customer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot electronic units that fail production acceptance testing and determine the root cause of failures.
  • Diagnose failures down to the component level using schematics, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, work orders, and technical documentation.
  • Perform component-level repair and rework to eliminate identified failure causes.
  • Retest repaired units to verify they meet established production acceptance criteria.
  • Determine the appropriate repair path based on troubleshooting results, component/BOM costs, and production requirements, working with Supervisors and Engineering when units should be repaired, reworked, or scrapped.
  • Verify that systems and sub-systems meet applicable industry, engineering, and customer specifications.
  • Interface with Engineering and Production teams to identify recurring failures, improve product reliability, and resolve technical issues.
Electronic Test Equipment

Use a variety of electronic test equipment and software to perform testing, troubleshooting, alignment, and verification, including:

  • Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
  • Multimeters
  • Oscilloscopes, including equipment operating from approximately 100 MHz to 2 GHz
  • Frequency Counters
  • Power Meters
  • Vector Signal Analyzers
  • Signal Generators, including vector, pulse, and function generators
  • Peak and average power meters
  • Other specialized electronic test hardware and software
Production & Documentation
  • Review BOMs, work orders, wiring charts, engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, test procedures, and other technical documentation before beginning work.
  • Follow established test procedures forNAVAIDS, surveillance radios, and other aviation electronic products.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of testing, troubleshooting, repairs, rework, and final test results.
  • Ensure test equipment and workstations are properly configured, maintained, and ready for use.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe test environment.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all applicable safety and quality procedures.
  • Complete assigned work within established schedules and Scope of Work requirements to support on-time product delivery.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and product reliability initiatives.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, quality standards, and established production processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required / Core Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience testing, troubleshooting, repairing, or diagnosing electronic equipment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits using schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to diagnose failures and identify root causes at the component level.
  • Strong understanding ofdigital, analog, and RF circuits.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production and test environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Engineering, Production, Quality, and other technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience testing or troubleshootingavionics, navigation aids (NAVAIDS), surveillance radios, communications equipment, radar systems, or similar electronic equipment.
  • Experience performing component-level troubleshooting and repair of digital, analog, and RF circuits.
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, power meters, frequency counters, and other electronic test equipment.
  • Familiarity withIPC-A-610 and IPC-7711/7721 workmanship and rework standards.
  • Experience working in aerospace, aviation, defense, electronics manufacturing, telecommunications, RF, or other high-reliability electronics environments.
Education & Experience
  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on technical experience.
  • Minimum of 18 months of experience testing avionics, RF equipment, communications equipment, or similar electronic systems preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in electronics assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of digital, analog, and RF circuits to the component level strongly preferred.
Shift Flexibility & Work Environment
  • Open availability to work any assigned shift is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work scheduled overtime, extended hours, or alternate shifts when required by production or program needs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during testing and production activities.
  • Ability to lift and move electronic test equipment, systems, and assemblies weighing up to50 lbs. individually.
  • Manual dexterity required to work safely and accurately with electronic components, hand tools, and test equipment.
  • Vision must be correctable to a level that allows the employee to safely and accurately perform required testing, troubleshooting, and inspection activities.
  • Work may involve exposure to a production/manufacturing environment and extended periods of standing or walking.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
