Job description

Electronics Technician

As an Electronics Technician, you will test and troubleshoot during acceptance testing, applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, electronic and electrical testing, engineering, mathematics, and physics.

Responsibilities and Authorities

• Test/troubleshoot using various equipment such as scopes, meters, signal generators, and power sources.
• Find and understand associated technical procedures.
• Identify pass/fail conditions and correct them when necessary.
• Navigate computer functions.
• Read detailed schematics for troubleshooting.
• Maintain test equipment and test stations.
• Layout, repair, and build test fixtures.
• Work with external customers on repairs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school.
• Six to ten years of related experience or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
• Must pass Electrical Safety Training and technician electrical knowledge test.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Ability to use Internet/intranet, cross‑functional ERP software, the MS Office package, and other software programs to provide a work product suitable for the position; must also be able to perform troubleshooting.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry; apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables where standardization is limited; interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Salary Range

The starting hourly rate for the role is between USD $25.00 to $30.00. The actual base is dependent upon training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
