Position Description
An important and rewarding position with the perfect balance of office and field work. The Electronics Technician will support the NOAA SORD-Idaho office in the calibration, maintenance, and operation of meteorological equipment, such as wind and temperature sensors, sodars, radios, and data acquisition equipment. Work activities shall be performed both at the NOAA office building and at outdoor sites where the equipment is deployed. These sites include the Idaho National Laboratories and surrounding communities. Duties include performing semi-annual calibration, maintenance, and repair of all meteorological instruments and other equipment in a meteorological observation network that includes 34 towers. The individual will also be responsible for maintaining equipment service documentation, inventory, and installing additional instrumentation as required.

Required Skills
Education
AA degree, apprenticeship at a vocational school, or completion of a relevant certificate program.
Location
The position is located on-site at NOAA's Air Research Lab in Idaho Falls, ID.
