Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Electronics Technician in Goleta, CA, onsite. The position is a 6-month contract with long-term potential and involves assembling mechanical and electrical devices and rigorously testing them.

You will work with a team to solder PCBs, set up test procedures, collect data, and help maintain lab equipment. Strong communication and documentation skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an electronics technician.
• Experience with electrical measurements.
• Experience with electronics assembly techniques.
• Associate or higher degree in engineering, technology, or related field.
• Experience with test equipment such as VNA, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Familiarity with UNIX-based command line interfaces.
• Ability to read schematics and follow documented procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and configure electronics (soldering, wire bonding, and mechanical assembly).
• Solder PCBs, design and implement test procedures, and set up test equipment.
• Test assembled electrical and mechanical devices to validate proper assembly.
• Gather data using testing procedures designed by electronics team engineers.

Job description

Immediate need for a talented Electronics Technician. This is a 06 Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Goleta, CA (Onsite).

Pay Range: $30 - $36/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Role Description: As an electronics team technician, you will leverage expertise in the assembly of mechanical and electrical devices and their testing to reliably assemble everything from bespoke electronics prototypes to production electronics.


• You will also leverage strong written and oral communication skills, as well as detail-oriented diligence, to assist engineering and research staff with everything from soldering PCBs, designing and implementing the test procedures to validate the functionality of the assembled devices, to helping put together electronics test-setups, assisting in data collection, and handling logistics such as equipment inventory and lab organization.


• Responsibilities: - Assemble and configure electronics (soldering, wire bonding, and mechanical assembly), fridge wiring configuration, as well as networking test equipment.


• Testing of assembled electrical and mechanical devices to validate proper assembly.


• Gather data using testing procedures designed by electronics team engineers


• Support deployment and operation of technologies developed by the electronics team that serves the greater organization.


• Help maintain organization/operation of lab test equipment and materials including inventory.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• 2 year of experience as an electronics technician


• Experience performing electrical measurements


• Experience with electronics assembly techniques


• Associate or higher degree in engineering, technology, or related fields


• Experience with more sophisticated electronics test equipment, such as vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.


• Familiarity with EM and circuit theory at the level of a first year college electricity and magnetism course.


• Experience with and ability to use UNIX-based command-line interfaces


• Ability to analyze data and troubleshoot.


• Ability to manually build an assemble electrical and mechanical devices that involve soldering, wire-bonding, and other wiring form factors.


• Knowledge and experience with common mechanical and electrical tools and units of measurement, e.g. use of a hand-held multi-meter, operation of basic power supplies, use of calipers.


• Proficiency with and ability to learn the use of modern software programs such as google sheets, key sight electronics equipment interfaces.


• Ability to read a schematic and follow documented operations procedures.
