Overview

Avionics Technician II. Our team is responsible for ensuring the airworthiness and optimal functionality of aircraft through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of all mechanical systems and components, in support of Special Operations Forces Rotary Wing Platforms.

As an Aircraft Avionics Technician I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the airworthiness and optimal functionality of H‑6, H‑60, and H‑47 aircraft, including:

  • Troubleshooting and repair
  • Component repair and replacement
  • Inspections and tests
  • Technical documentation

Basic Qualifications
  • Aircraft Handling Knowledge: Understanding of safe grounding, electrostatic discharge precautions, and aircraft handling procedures relevant to electrical work.
  • Maintenance Record Keeping: Ability to accurately document all electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in required logs and systems.
  • Quality Verification: Demonstrated skill in verifying that work meets required standards for reliability, safety, and airworthiness.
  • Line Maintenance Experience: Capability to support electrical systems during flight‑line operations with routine troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • Operational Flexibility: Effective teamwork and independent work habits, with readiness for varying shift structures and travel.
  • Must possess or be eligible for the required security clearance.
  • Candidate MUST have the ability to travel as dictated by mission needs and customer support.
Desired Skills
  • Specific / Adjacent Aircraft Experience: CH/MH-47, UH/MH-60, MD-500 / AH/MH-6, AH-64, OH-58D, or other Service Rotary Wing assets. Expertise in performing troubleshooting, inspections, dimensional checks, repairing, and overhauling components. The role will periodically require flexibility and agility between airframes supported in the organization, requiring your assignment on different MDS aircraft.
  • Specializations:
    • Avionics Systems: Calibration of navigation, communication, and flight‑control electronics.
    • Power Generation & Distribution: Maintenance of generators, batteries, wiring harnesses, circuit protection devices.
    • Electrical Troubleshooting: Proficient use of diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, avionics test sets).
  • Certifications: FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license, DoD certification, or equivalent military qualifications preferred.
