Job summary

Cummins is seeking an Engineering School-to-Work student in Electronics Validation to support our Drivetrain & Braking Systems team in Troy, MI. You will validate electronic systems, set up test hardware, and collect data to drive engineering decisions.

You will work with validation engineers and cross‑functional teams, using MATLAB/Simulink and automotive diagnostic tools. This 6–12 month onsite program offers practical, hands‑on learning in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full‑time in a degree program in the United States.
• 6–12 month School-to-Work assignment.
• 40 hours per week commitment.
• Coursework or projects in electronics, controls, embedded systems, testing, or validation.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills through hands‑on engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Support Product Validation by executing test plans and recording results.
• Build, configure, and maintain electronic hardware test environments.
• Analyze test data to identify trends and inform engineering decisions.
• Develop and improve test cases and validation procedures.
• Collaborate with validation, controls, and cross‑functional teams.
• Gain hands‑on experience with industry‑standard validation tools and platforms.
