Job summary

Precor in Woodinville, WA is seeking a Sourcing Engineer to develop and execute sourcing strategies for electronic components, PCBs, PCBAs, cables, and EMS partners. You will be the technical liaison between Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability, cost competitiveness, quality, and supply continuity.

You will lead NPI sourcing activities, qualify suppliers, manage lifecycles, and drive cost-reduction initiatives while applying lean methods and using SAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to electronics or supply chain.
• Experience in electronics sourcing, EMS, or electronics manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing strategies for electronic components, PCBs/PCBAs, cables, and EMS assemblies.
• Incorporate DFM, DFA, and Design for Supply Chain into product development.
• Evaluate and qualify EMS providers and suppliers based on capability and cost.
• Develop alternate/second-source strategies for high-risk components.
• Manage BOMs, AVL/AML, lifecycle and obsolescence, and ECN/ECO activities.
• Lead should-cost modeling and cost-reduction initiatives for components.
• Lead NPI sourcing through stage-gate processes and qualification activities.
• Conduct technology scouting to identify cost/performance improvements.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Electrical Eng., and EMS to resolve issues.
• Drive supplier performance improvements across quality, delivery, cost, risk.
• Apply lean methods like VSM, PFMEA, and root cause analysis.
• Use SAP or ERP to support BOM management and demand alignment.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with stakeholders.
• Support lead-time reduction and inventory optimization.
• Ensure IPC, ISO, UL compliance and risk mitigation.
• Identify risks such as obsolescence and counterfeit parts.
