Job summary

Kearfott Corporation in Pine Brook, NJ is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Electronics Packaging) to design components and assemblies for GND products, collaborating with Systems, Electrical, Test, Software, PMs, QA, Production and Supply Chain. You will create 3D/2D models in SolidWorks, perform FEA, select materials, generate BOMs, and ensure packaging meets IPC/PWBs/CAs specs.

Requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 2+ years post-graduation, aerospace/defense experience preferred, US

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of two years post-graduation experience in a related role.
• Aerospace/defense background preferred.
• Experience with electronics packaging design.

Responsibilities

• Design 3D and 2D mechanical components using SolidWorks CAD.
• Design 3D and 2D electromechanical assemblies using SolidWorks CAD.
• Develop ruggedized electronics and enclosures.
• Design for Manufacturing and Assembly.
• Generate BOMs.
• Select materials and processes per specifications.
• Stress analysis using FEA (Ansys, SolidWorks Simulation).
• Configuration management in SW PDM.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to satisfy mechanical requirements.
