Job summary

Job description

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC, Position Description Number PDD0877000, and is part of the SC AASF, South Carolina Army National Guard.

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration:

This position is open to Areas 1 & 2.

• Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2)
• Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard
• Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard

* Priority consideration will be given to Area 1. Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience or training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, knowledge of common testing procedures, skill in the use of hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schematics.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment.
• Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems.
• Experience in using hand tools, power tools and gauges to make intricate repairs.
• Experience in using diagnostic and testing equipment.
• Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.
