Job description

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for an ARTILLERY REPAIRER, Position Description Number PDD1224000, and is part of the SC CSMS, South Carolina Army National Guard.

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC)

Area of Consideration:

• Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2)
• Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard
• Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard

* Priority consideration will be given to Area 1. Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic system operations.
• Experience demonstrating the ability to fit and adjust parts and assemblies.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience or training demonstrating a broad knowledge in repairing, rebuilding, modifying and testing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and major components of artillery systems.
• Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining needed repairs in artillery systems.
• Experience demonstrating the ability to inspect artillery systems.
• Experience which demonstrates the ability to develop test standards.
• Experience interpreting and applying drawings, schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
