Job summary

Advantage Technical in Reno, NV is seeking an Electronics Instrumentation Technician for a direct-hire role supporting advanced industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, and process controls. You will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation, analyzers, control valves, PLCs, DCS systems, and electrical equipment, with preventive maintenance to maximize uptime.

This hands-on opportunity offers overtime, a 9/80 schedule, and potential bonuses with direct-hire stability

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or related field.
• 3+ years of instrumentation, electrical maintenance, or industrial controls experience.
• Level II NETA certification, Journeyman Electrician License, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with PLCs and DCS platforms, including Allen Bradley, Modicon, Honeywell, DeltaV, Yokogawa, or Triconex.
• Strong troubleshooting skills involving control valves, flow meters, VFDs, analyzers, motors, and electrical systems.
• Experience working with medium- to high-voltage equipment in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation, analyzers, control valves, PLCs, DCS systems, and electrical equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and plant uptime.
• Support commissioning, FAT/SAT testing, and control loop verification.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records within SAP.
• Diagnose and repair medium- and high-voltage electrical systems, motors, drives, switchgear, and related equipment.
• Participate in safety initiatives, process hazard reviews, and continuous improvement projects.
• Provide technical support during plant upsets, outages, and critical operational events.
