Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Hardware Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, test, and improve electronic equipment at the component level. You’ll troubleshoot hardware failures, perform root-cause analyses, and verify functionality through testing and validation.

You will use oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and power supplies to ensure quality and reliability while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic hardware.
  • Ability to diagnose failures at the board and component level.
  • Proficiency with electronic test & measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair PCBs and systems to the component level.
  • Perform diagnostic testing to identify hardware failures and performance issues.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings.
  • Replace and rework electronic components using soldering techniques.
  • Use test equipment to evaluate product performance and verify repairs.
  • Document repair activities, test results, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to improve reliability.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
