Job summary

Scientific Applications & Research Associates, Inc. (SARA) in Colorado Springs, CO seeks an Electronics Hardware Design Engineer to lead electrical system architecture, schematic capture, layout design, and prototype testing for defense and government programs.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians, contribute to hardware development, and support field testing and documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 1–4 years design experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel ~5% for customer briefings and testing events.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect new electronics systems from concept through implementation, including system architecture and PCB design.
• Develop schematics for analog, digital and mixed signal applications.
• Model and simulate circuit performance.
• Prototype, build, test and debug hardware with lab equipment.
• Write detailed technical reports on designs, test results, and procedures.
• Support field test activities with technical teams.
