Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer to join the EGSE team for the FBM program near Cape Canaveral, FL. The role involves refreshing and designing Electrical Ground Support Equipment and collaborating with project partners on future developments in a full-time, on-site capacity with a flexible 9x80 schedule.

Ideal candidates will have strong hardware design and test experience, be able to mentor colleagues, and coordinate with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

  • Hardware development experience and knowledge of product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement).

Standard Job Description

The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program is seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer to join the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) team.

Location: This position does not support teleworking; you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Cape Canaveral FL and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

Please note we will not provide relocation services for this position.

What does this role look like?

You will support FBM LE refresh and design update projects for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). Use your strong electrical engineering skills to work with all project partners and define the future for FBM!

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Participate in requirements analysis, configuration determination, design, alterations, material procurement, manufacturing, test and acceptance for a wide variety of electrical and electromechanical test systems and multifunction integrated test equipment in support of the US Navy’s Ballistic Missile Flight Test Program.
  • Mentor Junior engineers, interface extensively with our customers, as well as senior leadership.
  • Create/update project/process documentation that align to project requirements.
  • Lead the design, procurement, assembly, test and verification of our automated test systems, including data review, error analysis, integration and troubleshooting. Develop hardware requirements from subsystem to all locally assigned support equipment test systems.
  • Interface with suppliers, customer and internal design teams to provide cost effective and low risk solutions.
  • Develop test system design documentation to communicate proposed designs to internal design and business teams, vendors and customers.
To be effective in this role, you will need:
  • Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware
  • 3+ years professional experience.
  • While no clearance is needed to start this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. US Citizenship is required.

Researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited College or University.
  • Hardware development experience
  • Experience with product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement).
  • Strong technical background with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) or other similar systems.
  • Previous experience as a certified principal engineer or product subject matter expert on integrated hardware equipment.
Desired Skills

Experience in one or more of the following: Windchill, Zuken, CREO

  • Experience working on projects teams and development efforts.
  • Capability to lead a team responsible for development and test of integrated test systems, and experience as Subject Matter Engineer or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated an ability to lead/coordinate with small diverse teams in development of tech products.
  • Experience reading schematic diagrams and other technical documentations.
  • Requirements decomposition and technical proficiency
  • Must be able to work autonomously and drive items to closure.
  • Issue Tracking experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
