Job summary

Socket.dev seeks detail-focused Manufacturing Assembly Technicians for temporary contract work on our Production team. You will perform mechanical and electronic assembly, soldering, and cable harness fabrication to support high-quality product builds.

Ideal candidates have strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and commitment to quality standards. Responsibilities include assembling components per BOMs, performing IPC-aligned soldering, wiring, inspection, and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior electronics assembly, soldering, or cable/harness experience preferred.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for detailed work.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and use basic measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components, subassemblies, and finished products per BOMs and drawings.
• Perform soldering (through-hole/SMT) per IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 standards.
• Build wire harnesses and cable assemblies per specs and schematics.
• Read wiring diagrams and assembly drawings accurately.
• Inspect work for defects and rework as needed.
• Use test equipment to verify quality and function.
• Label, package, and stage assemblies for next step or shipping.
• Maintain a clean, safe workstation following 5S guidelines.
• Complete production paperwork and quality documentation.
• Identify and report process issues to supervisors.
• Meet daily/weekly production and quality targets.
• Follow ESD handling procedures.
