Job summary

Emcore Corporation in Tinley Park, IL, seeks a Buyer/Planner to align production with forecasts and manage material procurement to support manufacturing. The role interfaces with Production, Engineering, Quality, Receiving and Suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and optimal inventory levels.

Qualified candidates bring 3–5 years in purchasing, strong electronics manufacturing knowledge, and proficiency with INFOR ERP and Excel. The position is full-time, 100% onsite with ITAR considerations.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain or equivalent experience.
3–5 years progressive purchasing experience.
Experience with electronics manufacturing services and component sourcing.
Exposure to ISO-9001, AS-9100, IPC requirements.

Responsibilities

Plan production builds to align with forecasts and procure materials for manufacturing.
Develop new lower-cost global sources and cost-reduction opportunities.
Negotiate supplier benchmarks and manage supplier agreements.
Create and maintain production schedules based on demand and capacity.
Monitor progress, adjust schedules for on-time delivery and minimize shortages.
Maintain purchasing records, supplier documentation, and ERP data.
Identify and mitigate supply risks including lead times and constraints.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
Review inventory levels and assist with reductions.
Travel to supplier sites to support audits and onboarding.
