Job summary

Aimtron System is seeking a Buyer – Electronics Components & Planning to manage procurement of electronic components and support material planning for production in Palatine, IL. The role requires 3–4 years in electronics purchasing and hands‑on experience with PCBs, resistors, capacitors, ICs, BGAs, and related parts.

Responsibilities include reviewing BOMs, coordinating with Planning and Production, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring timely material availability while controlling costs

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of purchasing experience in electronics manufacturing or EMS.
• Experience buying bare PCBs, resistors, capacitors, ICs, BGAs, diodes, transistors, connectors.
• Knowledge of BOMs, RFQs, POs and supplier follow‑up.
• Exposure to material planning and MRP.
• Engineering degree is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Purchase bare PCBs and electronic components based on production needs.
• Source resistors, capacitors, ICs, BGAs, diodes, transistors, connectors and other components.
• Review BOMs and MRP requirements to identify purchasing needs.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to reduce costs.
• Create and release Purchase Orders and monitor supplier delivery.
• Coordinate with Planning, Production, Engineering, Quality, Stores, and Finance.
• Maintain ERP records and supplier performance data.
• Escalate shortages and supplier delays affecting production.
