Summary
We are seeking a hands‑on Mechanical Technician III to support prototype development of next‑generation AR/VR consumer devices. The role involves assembling, testing, and troubleshooting delicate electronic and mechanical components while collaborating closely with design engineers. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast‑paced prototype environment where project priorities may change daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform delicate mechanical and electrical assembly of prototype consumer electronic devices following SOPs
- Conduct device testing, calibration, flashing, and debugging using specialized equipment
- Troubleshoot hardware issues and collaborate with design engineers for resolution
- Use measurement tools and testing scripts to validate device functionality
- Assist with prototype builds, fixture setup, and post‑project analysis
- Contribute to SOP creation and process improvements to enhance assembly efficiency
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or 3+ years of experience assembling small electronic devices (phones, laptops, VR devices, etc.)
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting and electronic testing tools
- Familiarity with Linux, Windows, or Mac OS
- Basic scripting exposure such as Python or ADB
- Experience with NX, SolidWorks, or 3D printing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PCB, schematics, and soldering
- Experience in consumer electronics assembly or prototyping environments
- Exposure to fixture design or glue machine programming
