Job description

Job Title: Electronic Technician I – Electronic Product Fabrication and Assembly

Contract Duration: 1 year

Location: Boulder, CO/Westminster CO (On‑site, 5 days/week)

Target Pay Range: $25.20/hr, on W2

Job Summary

The Technician I will support electronic product fabrication and assembly activities in both production and development environments. This role involves building, reworking, testing, and troubleshooting non‑flight hardware while following engineering drawings, build documents, and established manufacturing processes. The position requires strong hands‑on technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team‑based, on‑site environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and rework non‑flight electronic hardware in production and development settings
  • Assemble cables, chassis, racks, and test aids using build documentation and assembly drawings
  • Perform cable assembly tasks including wire stripping, crimping, soldering, connector installation, sleeving, and grounding
  • Interpret and follow electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and wire lists
  • Identify and troubleshoot hardware issues related to design or workmanship
  • Perform continuity, certification, and functional testing on hardware and assemblies
  • Measure, record, and document test data; identify and report out‑of‑tolerance conditions
  • Execute assignments efficiently, balancing cost, schedule, manufacturability, and reusability
  • Maintain a regular and predictable on‑site work schedule
  • Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and support a positive work environment
  • Comply with safety, quality, and process requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • On‑site role requiring in‑person work five days per week
  • Work performed in offices, laboratories, production floors, cleanrooms, or outdoor research environments
  • May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Occasional travel between company campuses or external locations
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions when accessing facilities
Required Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree may substitute for related experience (2 years per higher degree)
Experience & Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on assembly experience
  • Ability to work confidently with hand tools
  • Experience reading and following complex schematics and assembly drawings
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and data lookup
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to work overtime as required
