Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on electronics assembly experience.
  • J-STD-001 certification required.
  • IPC-A-610 experience or certification preferred.
  • IPC-A-610 Space Addendum experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with electronic assembly, soldering, wiring, cable/harness assembly, and/or PCB assembly.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and parts traceability.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and ability to perform detailed work using both hands.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly documentation, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet established production schedules.
  • Must be a US Person (export control and security-related requirements).

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic and mechanical assembly of products and components.

  • General manufacturing processes including cleanup and conformal coating.
  • Document and sign-off in manufacturing systems.
  • Plan and execute work coordinating with hardware and production schedules.
  • Support multiple product lines ensuring hardware meets requirements.
  • Monitor quality per control procedures and traceability.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work area.

Job description

The Electronics Assembler performs electronic and mechanical assembly and related manufacturing operations in accordance with established procedures, assembly documentation, work instructions, methods, and sequences of operation. Responsibilities may include wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable and harness assembly, mechanical assembly, rework, and packaging.

The Electronics Assembler works closely with Engineering and Operations to support production schedules and ensure hardware is assembled accurately and in accordance with applicable quality and manufacturing requirements. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work with small components and detailed assemblies.

Responsibilities
  • Perform electronic and mechanical assembly of products and components, including cables, harnesses, chassis, printed circuit boards, panels, LRUs, batteries, and servo motors.
  • Perform hand soldering of SMT, through-hole, fine-pitch components, and wiring in accordance with applicable standards and work instructions.
  • Perform mechanical assembly using torque drivers and other precision hand tools.
  • Work under a microscope to perform detailed assembly, inspection, and rework activities.
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), wire lists, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), rework instructions, and process control instructions.
  • Perform rework and modifications to assemblies in accordance with approved instructions.
  • Perform general manufacturing processes including cleanup, epoxy application, and conformal coating.
  • Navigate electronic work instructions and manufacturing systems to complete required documentation and sign-offs.
  • Plan and execute assigned work in coordination with hardware and production schedule requirements.
  • Support manufacturing activities across one or more product lines and ensure assigned hardware is completed according to established requirements.
  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with applicable control procedures and manufacturing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate parts traceability and production records.
  • May serve as a resource or technical support to other employees in areas of demonstrated expertise.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and perform housekeeping and cleanup duties upon completion of assigned tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on electronics assembly experience.
  • J-STD-001 certification required.
  • IPC-A-610 experience or certification preferred.
  • Experience with the IPC-A-610 Space Addendum preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with electronic assembly, soldering, wiring, cable/harness assembly, and/or PCB assembly.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and parts traceability.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and ability to perform detailed work using both hands.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly documentation, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet established production schedules.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • This is an on-site position in a manufacturing/production environment, with work performed primarily at a workstation and requiring periods of sitting and/or standing.
  • Requires the ability to work under a microscope for extended periods and perform detailed visual inspection of small components, solder joints, wiring, and assemblies.
  • Requires manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and frequent use of both hands for fine-motor tasks, including soldering, wiring, component installation, and precision assembly.
  • May require standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasionally lifting or moving materials or assemblies.
  • Work may involve exposure to soldering fumes, adhesives, epoxy, conformal coatings, cleaning agents, and other manufacturing materials. Employees must follow applicable safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Work may be performed in an ESD-controlled environment and requires maintaining a clean, organized workstation while following applicable ESD, safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
