Job summary

Accelera in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an Electronics Assembler to join our production team. You will construct electronic components and small-gauge wiring for Navy shipboard systems, operating with minimal supervision on day shift.

Responsibilities include interpreting schematics, assembling populated chassis and boards, performing soldering and crimping to IPC and MIL standards, and ensuring high-quality connections.

Qualifications

• Experience assembling electronic components and wiring to military/industrial standards.
• Ability to interpret complex schematics, wiring diagrams, connector pin-outs, and wire lists.
• Familiarity with harness fabrication and precision crimps, soldering, and mechanical assembly.

Job description

We are currently looking for a skilled Electronics Assembler to join our team in Chesapeake, VA.

Location: Chesapeake, VA 23323

Compensation: $21/hr

Schedule: 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Role Overview

Working with minimal oversight, you will be responsible for constructing electronic components and small-gauge wiring at both the system and sub-assembly levels. You will execute repairs and system upgrades by strictly adhering to assembly guidelines and Mil-standard technical drawings.

Requirements

• Follow both written and verbal instructions to ensure project success.
• Interpret complex engineering schematics, wiring diagrams, connector pin-outs, and wire lists.
• Utilize your mechanical and electrical assembly background to build complex Navy shipboard systems, including populated chassis, component boards, and thru-hole CCAs.
• Demonstrate proficiency in crimping contacts, mechanical assembly, and soldering techniques.
• Operate standard hand tools, soldering irons, and crimping equipment effectively.
• Maintain familiarity with J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 soldering standards, and IPC-A-620 wire and cable requirements.
• Apply your soldering expertise to ensure high-quality connections, with preference given to those holding current certifications.
• Leverage your experience in harness fabrication to support overall production goals.
