Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative signal processing solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Create or modify existing electronic warfare signal processing and control algorithms.
  • Develop and execute test plans, including simulations and lab tests, to verify system capability.
  • Evaluate and assess functional performance of developmental RF systems, including subsystems and firmware/control algorithms.
  • Support planning and execution of integration, verification, or troubleshoot test activities in labs and in the field.
  • Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment.
  • Compile detailed performance evaluations using analysis tools such as MATLAB.
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders.
  • Maintain engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Provide technical guidance to Engineering IPTLs.
  • Participate in team meetings and working group sessions.
  • Support associated process requirements implementation.

Job description

Position Overview

Location: Atlanta, Georgia – 100 Galleria Pkwy SE, GALLERIA (US‑GA‑ATLANTA‑100). The role is onsite and may require occasional travel to test events (not expected to exceed 20 %).

In the Advanced Airborne RF Sensors department within the Space and Airborne Systems Engineering and Test Capability Center, you will be part of a team that integrates hardware and software, develops test plans and procedures, debugs and evaluates system functions and interfaces, and verifies system requirements to support final sell‑off to the customer. The team solves tough problems in a fast‑paced environment, emphasizes digital transformation using MBSE and Agile development, and collaborates across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges in signal processing design.
  • Create or modify existing electronic warfare signal processing and control algorithms.
  • Develop and execute test plans, including test simulations and lab tests, to verify system capability.
  • Evaluate and assess functional performance of developmental RF systems, including signal processing subsystems and firmware/control algorithms.
  • Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Troubleshoot Test activities in labs and in the field.
  • Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment.
  • Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations using analysis tools such as MATLAB.
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders.
  • Maintain engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Engineering Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTLs).
  • Participate in periodic team meetings, interface teleconference meetings, and working group meetings.
  • Support associated process requirements implementation.
What You Will Learn
  • After comprehensive on‑the‑job training, you will support systems engineering, integration, and test activities across the product development lifecycle.
Qualifications – Must Have
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), preferably Computer Science or Physics.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience troubleshooting electronic technical issues in an academic or internship setting, using common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance prior to the start date; U.S. citizenship required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications – Preferred
  • Advanced degree in STEM, preferably Physics or Computer Science.
  • Experience in RF system design, digital and analog signal processing, waveform and signal modulation characteristics and analysis, and/or algorithm implementation and testing.
  • Experience with electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols.
  • Experience integrating software and firmware onto electronic hardware systems.
  • Experience reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; proficiency in C/C++/C# preferred.
  • Experience with tools such as Microsoft Office, MATLAB or Python for data analysis and automation.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD (good faith estimate). Eligible hires may receive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, holidays, and relocation assistance.
