Job summary

CACIMastodon Design in Rochester, NY is seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary hardware team across Power, Digital, RF, and Sustainment disciplines. You will hire, mentor, and develop engineers while coordinating with engineering and business stakeholders to keep development and testing on track.

You will drive hardware design standards, ensure safety and quality, and partner with supply chain and program management to meet program needs.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years hardware engineering experience, including leadership.
• 3+ years of management experience with direct reports.
• Experience in power, digital, RF, or communications hardware.
• Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers.
• Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize across multiple programs.
• Willingness to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Experience partnering with program management, systems engineering, and supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary hardware engineering group spanning Power Supply, Digital, RF, and General Support/Sustainment Engineering.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineering technicians and professionals across the hardware team.
• Set technical priorities and direction for hardware activities, coordinating with Mechanical, Hardware, Systems Engineering, and Product Management.
• Oversee sustaining engineering—obsolescence management, ECOs, and post-production support for fielded products.
• Manage staffing and resource allocation across concurrent programs and product lines.
• Partner with Project/Program Management and Operations to align schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
