Descrizione del lavoro

Powerus is seeking an Electronic Warfare Engineer to analyze and mitigate the effects of jamming, spoofing, and interception on Powerus unmanned platforms. You will model the electromagnetic environment and derive requirements for RF chain, datalink, and navigation subsystems, and translate threat documents into specifications.

The role involves planning EW test events, supporting GPS-denied operation, and working with autonomy and flight software engineers to ensure robust degraded-mode

Competenze

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in electronic warfare, radar, spectrum operations, or a related RF discipline.
  • Working knowledge of jamming and anti-jam techniques, spread spectrum, and receiver behavior under interference.
  • Modeling and analysis experience in MATLAB, Python, or an equivalent tool.
  • U.S. Person status required (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))

Mansioni

  • Model the electromagnetic environment and derive requirements for the RF chain, datalink, and navigation subsystems.
  • Analyze susceptibility to jamming, spoofing, and interception and specify mitigations in hardware, waveform, and autonomy.
  • Support GPS-denied and GPS-degraded operation, including anti-jam antenna and alternative navigation trade studies.
  • Characterize emissions and signature and specify reductions where required.
  • Plan and execute electronic warfare test events in chamber, on range, and in instrumented flight.
  • Define degraded-mode behavior under contested link conditions with autonomy and flight software engineers.

Descrizione del lavoro

Powerus is building a next-generation American autonomous systems platform designed to move, protect, and sustain critical assets in high-consequence environments. The company combines advanced autonomy, manufacturing capability, operational expertise, and strategic acquisitions to support defense, national security, critical infrastructure, and commercial operations globally.

Mission

Our mission is to deliver resilient autonomous technologies that strengthen national security, improve operational safety, and expand the capabilities of organizations operating in complex environments.

Why Join Powerus

Powerus customers operate in contested spectrum, where jamming, spoofing, and interception threaten the datalink and navigation of every aircraft. Survivability in that environment is a design requirement.

This role analyzes those threats and sets requirements for the RF chain, datalink, navigation, and autonomy, and verifies mitigations in chamber, range, and flight test.

Position Overview

Powerus is seeking an Electronic Warfare Engineer to analyze and mitigate the effects of jamming, spoofing, and interception on Powerus unmanned platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Model the electromagnetic environment and derive requirements for the RF chain, datalink, and navigation subsystems
  • Analyze susceptibility to jamming, spoofing, and interception and specify mitigations in hardware, waveform, and autonomy
  • Support GPS-denied and GPS-degraded operation, including anti-jam antenna and alternative navigation trade studies
  • Characterize emissions and signature and specify reductions where required
  • Plan and execute electronic warfare test events in chamber, on range, and in instrumented flight
  • Define degraded-mode behavior under contested link conditions with autonomy and flight software engineers
  • Translate customer threat documentation into specifications
Qualifications
  • Must be located in the United States, within commuting distance of Rock Hill, SC
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field
  • Experience in electronic warfare, radar, spectrum operations, or a related RF discipline
  • Working knowledge of jamming and anti-jam techniques, spread spectrum, and receiver behavior under interference
  • Modeling and analysis experience in MATLAB, Python, or an equivalent tool
  • U.S. Person status required (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)); this role involves access to ITAR- and EAR-controlled technical data
Preferred Qualifications
  • GPS anti-jam, CRPA, or alternative navigation experience
  • Experience with U.S. Department of Defense customers and threat documentation
  • Radar or ESM signal processing experience
  • Active or prior U.S. security clearance
What We Look For

Candidates should have turned a threat description into a specification that another team built and tested against.
