Working at our Vandalia Facilities:

Our Vandalia facility is located 50 minutes north of the GE Aerospace headquarters and sits just north of the city of Dayton—known widely as the birthplace of aviation—where the Wright Brothers built the world’s first aircraft in their bicycle shop in the heart of downtown Dayton. This business boasts a rich history, in operation for over 100 years. At over 140,000 square feet, the Vandalia facility rests on 25 acres right off Interstate 75.

At GE Aerospace in Vandalia, we specialize in manufacturing and servicing world-class power generation and electrical control and distribution equipment for a variety of military and commercial customers. Vandalia is also home to a product development lab where operators and engineers work together to invent the future of flight.

Role Overview:

We offer a dynamic, fast-paced work environment for someone looking to grow and excel in their role. You’ll perform testing, measuring, and recording for acceptance of electrical power equipment in a production environment and/or perform product development and qualifications of electrical power equipment in a lab environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

  1. Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and interpret technical documents, including electronic schematics.
  2. Experience using oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, AC/DC power supplies, and voltage/current probes.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Associate's degree in electronic engineering technology or electromechanical engineering.
  2. (Or) Equivalent military experience and coursework.
  3. (Or) 4 years relative industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Manual dexterity to perform assembly tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Learn and take direction from leaders and subject-matter experts from across the site.
  3. Work cross-functionally with technicians, assemblers, maintenance, quality engineers and manufacturing engineers from across the site.
  4. Work with professionalism in an environment where customers or visitors may be present.
  5. Initiative to come up with creative solutions to problems, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  6. Attention to detail.
  7. Ability to work in a team-based environment.
  8. Troubleshoot AC and DC boards, circuit and hardware to component level.
  9. Assemble and modify experimental circuits, prototypes according to engineering instructions.

Additional Information:

1st Shift Pay starts at $25.15 per hour. Hours 6 am – 2:30 pm.
