Compensation and Benefits

• Base Rate: $28.60
• Performance Pay: Available annually
• Experience Bonus: 1% of the base hourly rate for each year of verified experience beyond the requirement, up to 10 years
• Education Bonus: 1% of the base hourly rate for an AA or higher degree if not required

Class/Calendar: C41, 12 months

Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)

FSLA: Non-Exempt

Overview

To repair various electronic systems and components, maintain them in safe operating condition, and install electronic systems to ensure safe and uninterrupted service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid Arizona driver’s license
• Minimum two years experience in electronics repair or related field; excellent attendance record
• Formal education in electronics; work experience considered
• Knowledge of fire alarm, intercom, sound, and video systems; proficiency with computers
• Must obtain NICET certification within 6 months of hire (training and exam fee provided)
• Knowledge of electronic devices and circuitry; ability to diagnose and repair components
• Ability to interpret plans, schematics, blueprints
• Ability to use tools safely and effectively
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to lift/move 100 pounds, work from ladders up to 35 feet
• Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, holidays with minimal notice

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair district electronic communication systems (fire alarm, intercom, video, sound)
• Coordinate with district personnel and contractors on projects
• Complete documentation and paperwork promptly
• Support other personnel as needed

Electronic Tech J Lead

Note: Drug and alcohol testing required during first 3 months of employment for new hires in Transportation. Positive tests disqualify employment.
