Job summary

Obsidian Solutions Group is seeking an Electronics Technician Maintenance II to provide contractor logistic support for Marine Corps activities at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. The role requires applying basic to advanced technical knowledge to diagnose and repair electronics within simulators, following manuals and O&M instructions.

The position is contingent on contract award and involves on-site work with minimal remote capability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with vocational training; associate degree preferred.
• Prior military experience is required.
• Experience as staff or instructor is expected.
• Familiarity with ODS devices and simulations is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication; knowledge of military protocol.
• Proficiency with MS Office and related software.

Responsibilities

• Refer to training manuals to determine instruction and follow lesson plans for simulators.
• Incorporate new training and changes into simulator programs and materials.
• Set up training sites and print handouts for students.
• Prepare training systems for operation and perform end-of-training shutdowns.
• Perform PMCS and operator-level repairs; report issues to maintenance.
• Assist in system testing events and diagnose failures or operator issues.
• Operate test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, and more.
• Fulfill collateral duties as required.

Job Summary

Provide contractor logistic support (CLS) for Marine Corps and Driving Simulators. The Electronics Technician Maintenance II applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This offer is available contingent upon contract award.

Specific Responsibilities

• Reference training manuals to determine the course of instruction and follow lesson plans for various simulators
• Incorporate new training and changes into simulator training
• Set up instruction sites for training and prepare and print handouts for students
• Prepare training systems for operations, operate training systems IAW training system O&M manuals, technical manuals, and drawings; perform shutdown tasks at the end of training
• Perform PMCS and Operator-level repairs as required; report maintenance issues to the appropriate repair facility
• Assist in system testing events and provide expertise in identifying and demonstrating system failure issues, operation, or operator failures
• Use various test equipment such as digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, logic analyzers, sine wave generators, fiber optic test equipment, and other special test equipment
• Perform related collateral duties as required

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Education

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED plus vocational training (Military Technical School or certificate program)
• Preferred: Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Industrial Electronics

Experience

• Prior military experience required
• Experience as staff/instructor
• Familiarity with devices such as ODS
• Knowledge in simulations and MS Office
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
• Working knowledge/understanding of military protocol/chain of command
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships, professional demeanor, and attitude; ability to work cooperatively with military and civilian workforce
• Background in or working knowledge of Military Operations, Training Development, Doctrine Development, or Combat Development (Desired)

• MATV/JLTV/LVSR Operations and Maintenance Course
• Train the Trainer Course
• Basic Instructor Course
