Job summary

Delta Personnel Services is recruiting an Electronic Technician for a full-time role in New Jersey. The position involves modifying, repairing, and improving electronic products, equipment, and controls, and assisting in developing updated systems.

The candidate will troubleshoot equipment, identify process issues, and collaborate with the Maintenance Department to source parts. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is required, with 5+ years in the field preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic/electrical equipment in manufacturing settings.
  • Identify issues in manufacturing processes and machinery.
  • Interface with Maintenance to source replacement parts.
  • Apply engineering principles to achieve goals.
  • Lead others when required.

Job Summary

The Electronic Technician will modify, repair, and improve existing electronic products, equipment, and controls and will assist in developing new or updated electronic systems, components, or products.

Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoot and facilitate repairs on electronic/electrical equipment and machinery used in manufacturing.
  • Identify and troubleshoot manufacturing processes, mechanical equipment, machinery, and components.
  • Interface with the Maintenance Department to identify replacement parts or components as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Apply principles and techniques of engineering to accomplish assigned goals.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while following established instructions and guidelines.
  • Perform a variety of complex tasks requiring independent judgment.
  • Report potentially dangerous electrical equipment to the supervisor and take appropriate steps to resolve the issue.
  • Perform safety checks to ensure design plans are feasible under various conditions.
  • May lead and direct the work of others.
  • Develop and maintain a positive employee attitude toward their work and fellow employees.
  • Provide backup support for the Maintenance Manager as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical /Electronic Engineering and/or a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or a related area.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Ability to perform high-level mathematical functions.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow necessary safety procedures, signs, and instructions.
  • Thorough understanding of electronics principles and design.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to follow highly complex directions and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements
  • Moderate physical activity is required.
  • Significant amount of walking throughout the workday.
  • Lifting is required.
  • Ability to distinguish various wire colors and identify electronic system sections and wiring.
Working Conditions
  • This position normally works in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hearing, eye, and foot protection are mandatory when engaged in activities within the plant.
  • Ability to work in temperatures reaching 110°F .
