Job summary

Magellan Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Electronic Technician in New York to support and maintain electronic and control systems in precision manufacturing. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety.

The role emphasizes collaboration with maintenance, engineering, production, and quality teams, helping drive continuous improvement and pay up to $32/hour. Some overtime and off-shift support may be required.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in electronics/maintenance.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as an Electronic Technician in manufacturing (CNC/aerospace preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation and controls, electrical testing equipment and servo systems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electronic systems, including CNC machines, PLC systems, Servo drives, VFDs, and motion control systems, and HMI systems and industrial networks
  • Perform electrical diagnostics on manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and facility infrastructure.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on electronic systems to minimize downtime.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning.
  • Work closely with maintenance, engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve equipment issues and improve performance.
  • Document maintenance activities and update equipment records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance calls and support off-shift troubleshooting when required.

Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, New York is seeking a highly skilled Electronic Technician to support and maintain the electronic and control systems used in our precision manufacturing operations. The successful incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring production equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency through troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The salary range for this role is $25.00 to $32.00 per hour.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electronic systems, including CNC machines, PLC systems, Servo drives, VFDs, and motion control systems, and HMI systems and industrial networks

Position Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as an Electronic Technician in a manufacturing environment (CNC / aerospace preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation and controls, electrical testing equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc., and Servo motors, drives, VFDs, and sensors
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control issues under time pressure.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to machinery, electrical systems, and noise.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • May require working overtime, weekends, or off-shift support as needed.
