Job summary

The Iowa Department of Corrections at North Central Correctional Facility in Rockwell City seeks an Electronic Engineer Technician to maintain secure electronic systems across the facility. Salary is negotiable but not to exceed $89,835.20 annually. Hands-on work with diagnostic tools and collaboration with maintenance teams will be essential

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time work experience in technical electronic engineering work.
• Thirty semester hours of accredited college coursework in electronic engineering equals one year of full-time experience.
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate’s degree in electronic engineering, and experience equal to three years of full-time work in technical experience in electronic engineering work.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in electronic engineering, and experience equal to one year of full-time work in technical electronic engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electronic and microprocessor-based equipment.
• Maintain and service key facility systems including: security cameras, fire alarm systems, perimeter fence alarms, electronic gate and door locking systems, public address and intercom systems, staff telephone and two-way radio systems, inmate telephone and television systems, CCTV and media center systems.
• Use diagnostic tools such as digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, and other testing equipment to identify and resolve issues.
