Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems seeks an Electronic Specialist for our York, PA location to diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems on manufacturing equipment. The role includes fabrication of harnesses, control panels, and preventive maintenance.

You will read technical drawings and codes, test equipment under operating conditions, and ensure safety standards such as LOTO, Arc Flash, and ESD are followed. On-site with first-day benefits eligibility and relocation possible.

Qualifications

• Journeymen papers or equivalent certification preferred.
• Technical electronics/electrical system certs demonstrated interest.
• Training in safety certifications listed below is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and work from technical drawings, electrical codes, manuals, and work orders.
• Diagnose electrical and electronic malfunctions; replace or repair defective components and control modules.
• Reassemble, test, and verify equipment under operating conditions.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Install conduit, pull and terminate wiring, fabricate harnesses, and build control panels.
• Wire complex units and install auxiliary controls.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments and electrical/electronic testing equipment.
• Operate hand/ power tools, bending equipment, ladders, scaffolding, and material handling devices safely.

We are seeking a Electronic Specialist (Manufacturing Maintenance) to join our federal team at our York, PA Grantley Plant location. Diagnose electrical and electronic malfunctions; replace or repair defective components and control modules.

Pay: Starting rate of pay is $38.62 per hour
Union: This is a bargaining unit (Union) position.

As an Electronic Specialist, you will:

Electrical codes

• The following electrical codes must be adhered to:
  • NFPA70
  • NEC

Various Electrical Systems and Manufacturing Equipment:

CNC, Manual machines, Jib/Overhead cranes, Welders, Blast equipment, Paint booths, Weld Roll

Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and precision measuring instruments
• Knowledge of frequency drives and PLC ladder logic
• Skilled in wiring, conduit installation, and control panel assembly

Preferred Qualifications:

This position is well suited for candidates with the following experience:

• Journeymen Papers
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical/electronic installation and repair in an industrial setting
• Technical certification in electronics or electrical systems preferred

Preferred Education:

• Technical certification in electronics or electrical systems preferred
