Job summary

Diversified is seeking a Design Engineer 2 in Electronic Security to join the ESS Project Engineering team. You will design security systems across access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection, driving concepts from concept through IFC delivery and supporting installation and integration.

You’ll collaborate with senior engineers, develop BOMs, and maintain documentation while expanding your technical expertise in ESS technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in technical systems design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM, and MS Office 365.
• Ability to obtain a government-issued Top Secret Clearance (US-based).
• Understanding of ESS project lifecycle from concept to commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of electronic security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection solutions.
• Develop system concepts, specifications, and requirements aligned to client needs and project scope.
• Produce Bills of Materials (BOMs), estimates, and supporting documentation for proposals and projects.
• Develop and support design deliverables, including 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC drawings.
• Provide technical coordination to support system architecture, installation, and integration activities.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend security technologies and product solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design, engineering, and project delivery.
• Support client engagement activities, including clarifying requirements and managing expectations.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure alignment with design standards and requirements.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and support issue resolution across projects.
• Maintain knowledge of ESS technologies, industry trends, and best practices through ongoing training.
