Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs in Forbes, MN (and Eveleth, MN) seeks an Electronic Instrumentation Technician to supervise electrical/electronic systems in mine and plant environments. Safety is of utmost importance; work may be in a shop or out in the field, with rotating shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage.

Duties include inspecting, repairing, wiring, calibrating, testing, and adjusting instruments; installing control devices and power transmission components; and supporting 24-hour operations.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited electrical training or apprenticeship program.
• 4 years of relevant experience.

Overview

Location: Forbes, MN or Eveleth, MN

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for an Electronic Instrumentation Technician. This position will oversee various technical functions. Safety is of utmost importance. Work may be in a shop environment or out in the field.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and wire all electrical and/or electronic apparatus, devices, and circuits of any voltage in the mine, plant, or assigned areas; including power transmission lines, transformers, and related equipment.
• Install, repair, calibrate, test, and adjust any type of integrating, indicating, controlling, or graphic electrical, pneumatic, or mechanical instrument.
• Work schedules may vary to provide 24/7 coverage for the facility.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited electrical training or apprenticeship program
• 4 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within an industrial production environment.

May be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, to ensure 24-hour coverage, 7 days per week during major repairs or as needed. Regular attendance is an essential requirement. Must be able to physically perform all these responsibilities safely: walk on uneven surfaces, climb equipment, operate pickup, and other small fleet vehicles, etc.

The pay rate for this role is $41.504 - $43.177/hour
