Job Summary:

Responsible for tasks related to EHR system implementation, adoption, enhancement, and support. This includes analysis, development, training, testing, documentation, go-live, ongoing support, problem resolution, and maintenance.

Job Duties:
  1. Develop a strong understanding of assigned applications and demonstrate proficiency in navigating the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  2. Meet with relevant personnel to gather information and observe workflows.
  3. Understand current and proposed workflows; document them using flowcharts; identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  4. Produce documentation such as workflow diagrams, gap analysis, needs assessments, design specs, build documentation, test plans, project plans, and status reports.
  5. Perform application testing, including scenario-based, integrated, and parallel testing.
  6. Apply critical thinking to problem-solving and identify root causes.
  7. Communicate effectively with peers, stakeholders, project teams, and leadership; provide regular updates and escalate issues appropriately.
  8. Complete system build and documentation following department guidelines and change management policies.
  9. Participate actively in meetings, providing feedback and input.
  10. Prepare training materials and conduct training sessions virtually or in person.
  11. Adhere to best practices in information security.
  12. Participate in team on-call rotation to provide 24x7 support.
  13. Provide remote and on-site support to end-users as needed.
  14. Support system upgrades, patches, and monitoring.
  15. Assist in preparing department guidelines, standards, procedures, and policies.
  16. Participate in vendor review and selection processes.
  17. Understand integration and technical requirements of peripherals and devices interfacing with applications, such as laboratory instruments, radiology modalities, printers, and scanners.
Work Environment:

Typically performed in an office environment. Responsible for meeting job obligations and complying with organizational policies. The statements are not all-inclusive and represent typical elements for successful performance.

Relevant experience may combine related work experience and degrees obtained (Associate’s Degree = 2 years; Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years).
