Everest Consultants is seeking an Electronics Engineer 3-Telecom to support telecommunications, control, protection, measurement, and data acquisition systems in Vancouver, WA. This onsite, 12-month contract offers opportunities to contribute to reliability improvements and system optimization.

You will develop specifications, test plans, procedures, and recommendations while collaborating with field personnel, operations, and maintenance teams.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering (ABET-accredited) is required.
• 10 years of Electrical Engineering experience is required.
• Knowledge of engineering concepts for regional transmission systems is required.

Title: Electronics Engineer 3-Telecom

Location: Vancouver, WA (Onsite)

Duration: 12-month Contract (with possible extensions up to 5 years)

Pay Range: $67.74 – $70.97 per hour

Provides engineering support for telecommunications, control, protection, measurement, and data acquisition systems. Conducts engineering studies, system testing, equipment evaluations, and failure analysis to improve system reliability and performance. Develops technical specifications, test plans, procedures, and recommendations while supporting field personnel, construction, operations, and maintenance activities.

Position Responsibilities

• Compile and present technical data, tables, reports, and graphics on system performance, equipment failures, and outages.


• Conduct engineering studies and develop test plans for telecommunications equipment and related systems.


• Collaborate with engineering and project personnel to develop work statements and process approved Statements of Work (SOWs).


• Provide technical engineering support to construction, operations, maintenance, and field personnel.


• Develop installation, operation, and troubleshooting procedures for hardware and software systems.


• Prepare network specifications, diagrams, equipment configurations, and technology recommendations.


• Provide project updates, technical findings, and recommendations to management and stakeholders.


• Support system-wide testing, engineering evaluations, and reliability assessments for telecommunications and related equipment.


• Develop engineering plans and provide design, field support, testing, and instrumentation calibration services.


• Train new personnel on engineering procedures, equipment, testing practices, and applicable technical standards.


• Research emerging technologies and consult with manufacturers, design engineers, and field personnel to evaluate equipment and operating requirements.


• Investigate complex electronic system problems, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.


• Coordinate system-wide tests and studies to evaluate equipment capabilities and recommend modifications to improve reliability and performance.


• Maintain official records and technical documentation in accordance with information security, records management, and compliance requirements.

Position Requirements

Education & Corresponding Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering or a directly related field (from an ABET accredited school) is required.


• 10 years of Electrical Engineering experience is required.


• Knowledge of engineering concepts, principals, and practices applicable to components and facilities found on a regional transmission systems is required.

Required Technical Skills & Experience

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products, such as Outlook, Word, and Excel (or similar).

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Proficiency in analog circuit design / analysis.


• Experience with telephone systems.


• Proficiency in Carrier Ethernet, Multiple Protocol Label Switching (MPLS).


• Experience with microwave communications systems.


• 1 year experience using mobile radio coverage tools.


• Proficiency measuring and solving EMI issues.


• Experience with Microsoft Visio and/or Bentley Micro Station sufficient to develop basic CAD drawings.


• Excellent customer contact skills, sufficient to provide technical support over the phone to engineers and craftsmen in the field.


• Ability to communicate technical information verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical users


• Ability and willingness to participate and perform effectively in a project team environment and effectively manage multiple work assignments.
